You may wonder how a beauty therapist or makeup artist chooses which brand of cosmetic to work with. When I originally trained as a makeup artist, it was with the brand Jerome Alexander, and so I used their products. Choosing the brand, you train with makes sense.
However, years on, I found myself needing to find a brand again. My business ethos encompasses products that are natural, organic and aromatherapy based, so when I came across Lily Lolo, a natural mineral and ‘free from’ cosmetic, I felt quite relieved.
Lily Lolo sells to trade (makeup artists and salons) and online only. Some of the natural ingredients in their products include organic aloe jojoba oil, aloe vera, panthenol, green tea extract, argan oil, marine extract, pomegranate seed oil, sea holly extract, manuka oil, shea butter, canola oil, vitamin E, rosemary extract, coconut oil…to name but a few! Many of these ingredients help to soothe, retain moisture and hydrate, provide antioxidants and have antibacterial properties.
So far, so good! What I then preceded to do was watch numerous You Tubes, as not only is Lily Lolo on trend but everyone seems to be vlogging! What I saw was a very natural looking cosmetic range that was easy to apply and gave amazing natural looking results. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the stuff!
When my professional makeup artist’s kit arrived, I was in makeup heaven. I had models falling at my feet, so I booked them in for practice sessions, and neither I nor my models were disappointed.
The base coverage is so very light in texture but is awesome at covering up all those little imperfections. It doesn’t feel like you’re wearing makeup with this range. The loose powder and pressed eye shadows are extremely easy to work with, with gorgeous pigmentation that blends superbly. Likewise, for contour, blush, bronzer and finishing powder – all a dream to use. Lipsticks are top quality in colour and creaminess, and the gloss is packed with Vitamin E and organic jojoba to nourish and protect delicate lips; it also has a subtle chocolate flavour, making lips very kissable! The result is indeed a very natural but a highly professional finish.
So whether it’s wedding makeup or a special occasion makeover you desire, do consider using Lily Lolo and me, as we make a great team!
